NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU Prices Hit Close To $2000 In The US, Cheapest Model Now At $1900 US

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs are now more expensive than ever with prices touching close to $2000 US despite being on sale.

NVIDIA’s Entire GeForce RTX 40 GPU Lineup Gets Cheaper While The RTX 4090 Becomes More Expensive, Now Costs Around $2000 In US

While going through some Black Friday deals, I noticed a peculiar trend in the pricing of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs across all major US retailers. It looks like that a month after we reported an ongoing price hike, the card is now even more expensive and is now reaching the $2000 mark.

Back in October, the lowest price for the card reached $1700 US and now that sits at $1900 US, a $200 US increase in just a few weeks. Furthermore, the $1900 US pricing is limited to Black Friday promos which means that once those deals are over, you will see the card listed for even higher prices. The average price at the moment for the card has reached $2000 US.

Looking at retailer-specific prices, Newegg has the GeForce RTX 4090 Trinity OC as the cheapest model which is priced at $1899 US with the 2nd cheapest variant, the RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid from MSI costing $1999 US. On Amazon, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards are priced well above the $2000 US mark. As for BestBuy and B&H, the graphics card is completely out of stock with no word on when it will be restocked.

Looking at the price trajectory from BestValueGPU, we can note that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs now sit at an average retail price of $12000 US which is $400 US more expensive than MSRP & a hike of 25%. Even used prices have bumped up to $1750-$1760 US.

Now there’s no explanation behind these price increases. One could say that NVIDIA allocated huge amounts of AD102 GPUs that are used for cards such as the RTX 4090 to China prior to the ban. It’s likely that it would have caused a temporary shortage that could last a few months but that’s mere speculation.

So it looks like gamers and enthusiasts who were hoping to find a cheaper NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card during the holiday season are out of luck as the prices are likely to keep on increasing until they hit a plateau and start to fall by the end of 2023 or early 2024.
